An Accomplished Friday

For the past few weeks i have been busy with the 2nd Quarter PRP (Performace Review Program) of my KAMs (Key Account Managers), updating the presentation of the Sales Departmental Process for the bootcamp training (of our new hires) not to mention my lack of sleep just to finish it to beat the deadline plus there's me going out on client calls with my new KAM who will be taking over my accounts...  and that stressful security breach that I discovered on our online system...which was escalated to the Regional office for investigation...

All these happened so fast and what a relief when I finally finished the last of my deliverable (the 78 slides of the Powerpoint Presention of Sales Departmental Process) at the last working day of July :)
I slept around 3:3am becoz i couldn't keep my eyes open anymore..had to hit the sak.

I felt i deserve to relax and celebrate...and that is what I exactly did ...ate dinner with hubby at Bon Chon and watched Captain America at Galleria :)

Hope you accomplished something too this month :)

Goodbye Harry

It's been a decade since I started reading the book by JK Rowling. And I am one of those movie goers that took time out to watch every single movie adaptation. I can't remember not liking any of them. Seems like the book  was put into the big screen just the way it was in my imagination. And as i watch the last installment of  Harry Potter movie... i was in tears in 4 particular scenes.

1. When Harry entered Hogwarts after the attack of Voldemort...seeing young and old people alike hurt and dead..and seeing Fred Weasley.

2. When Snape died. --this was beyond me. I don't know why. I didn't even cry when I was reading it. But there was something there.. the emotions was too much and I can't help but let it out. --especially when he said "You have your mother's eyes".

3. When Harry was in the pensive and looking into Snape's memories.. knowing that all this time, he is looking after Harry because of his love for Lily.

4. When Lily appeared in front of Harry before he steps into the woods to fight with Voldemort. --this was the ultimate... mother-son encounter where my heart was broken into pieces.

Thank you Harry Potter and all the characters which are equally given gratitude. Thank you Joanne K. Rowling for bringing this book to life.

PS. Some people may not appreciate the movie because they have never read the book. I pity them because they don't know what they were missing.

xoxo.

Beauty Tips: Tweezing Eyebrows | ModernMom.com

Beauty Tips: Tweezing Eyebrows
Eyebrows are an important beauty feature, but they can easily grow out of control. You've probably seen some eyebrow don'ts, such as brows that are too bushy, too thin or the tadpole--a kind of eyebrow mullet, if you will, thick at the beginning with a too-drastic tapering off that doesn't quite make it to the end. You can avoid all of these eyebrow mistakes once you learn some beauty tips for tweezing them.

Shaping

Eyebrows should have an arch, but don't overdo this or you will look perpetually surprised. To find where the arch should be, take a pencil and hold it vertically from the inside of your nose. The outside edge of the pencil is where your brow should begin. Move the pencil diagonally across and over your iris, or the colored part of your eye. That is where the brow should arch. Move it again to the outside of your eye. That is where the eyebrow should end. Once you know your start, end and arch positions, you can pluck the hairs that are outside those areas. Do not pluck above your brow, only below. Otherwise, you may be left with a fuzzy-looking area. Make the arch gradually. Take a few days if you need to. You want to avoid overplucking.

When to Tweeze

The best time to tweeze your eyebrows is right after your shower. If that is inconvenient, apply a hot washcloth to your brows to loosen the hair follicles. It will be easier to tweeze if you take that step, according to the Free Beauty Tips Glam website.

Plucking

When you are ready to pluck, pull the skin taut around the brow. This makes it easier to see the stray hairs. It also hurts less when you pull your skin a little. Pluck in the direction that the hairs grow. Stop and evaluate your work often to avoid plucking too much. After you are done, take an eyelash comb and brush your brows upward. Trim any hairs that extend over the brow bone.

The Right Tools

Picking the right eyebrow tweezer can make this job easier for you. A tweezer with a thin tip is good for small, fine hairs. A slanted tip will give you the most control. A square tip is best for coarser hair.

In Case of Pain

If you are in any discomfort or pain from the tweezing, you can apply a little anbesol to numb the area. Sometimes your brow area will be red and a little swollen after tweezing. If so, you can apply cool, wet tea bags to soothe the area. Ice or a soothing lotion, such as aloe, will work too. Do not touch the area too much. This could interfere with healing and could lead to an infection.

Korean Fried Chicken

I never heard nor read nor seen anything about Bon Chon..i first read it from my cousin's  tweet...and then after a few weeks I saw one branch in Libis which is under construction. And another tweet from someone I was following saying that she can finish 8-12 pieces of this chicken... And so I asked my husband to if we can try it out someday.. that someday came and we were hooked the first time we had it.. I ordered the spicy and the soy garlic because i don't know which one I like... but the spicy flavored chix is serious business and decided that soy garlic is the only one for me next time..We did visit again to celebrate my hubby's birthday and took home some for my mom...(she love it too!) And so on our third visit we ordered the other stuff on their menu...one comment though...Bon Chon need to add more dressing for the Cesar Salad coz its so dry.

Gone South: Zamboanga!

When I learned that my friend Carol's wedding will be held in Dipolog (Zamboanga del Norte), it was all excitement.. I can't wait for the Piso fare announcement of Cebu Pacific so I can book a flight asap...and so the day came (February) when the much awaited piso fare was announced but it was unfortunate for me that I didn't get the piso advantage.. but its okay discounted parin.

The trip became much more anticipated and was badly needed when the weeks before the scheduled flight I was like so busy I didn't even had the time to visit a salon or a spa to have my nails done. But all these were all forgotten when I saw Raffy & Nica at the airport.. this is it!
Raffy & Nica checking in at NAIA Terminal3
Our first day was filled with Love Love Love.. as our dear Carol and Larry tied the know at the newly renovated Holy Rosary Cathedral that was built in 1895 by the Spanish Friars. Reception was help at the Royal Farm, Gulayon, Dipolog City.
Mr. & Mrs. Amores

At the Reception: trying to pout for the camera, a signature smile of the bride.

Our trip down south will not be complete without experiencing the BEACH.. and this is what we exactly did on our second day...What more can Dapitan offer but their famous Dakak Beach Resort.

We planned to take the habal-habal (a single motorbike used as public transport) but 2 of our friends were not so excited to take this mode of transportation.. so we rented the next ride that is light on the budget ...which is the multicab...

Travel time from Dipolog to Dapitan is about an hour and we were taken by a Van inside the resort.. (Strictly no parking inside the resort).. The place was huge and nice. The sand is so fine it reminded me of Bohol :)

Spent the whole day here relaxing, swimming, taking photos and taking about android phones haha! The food is good and with the entrance fee of P200 per pax, we got a P100 rebate each! Sulit ang P200++ na lunch :)

Love it here..wish you were there too..

tried spelling D-A-K-A-K  :)

On the third day of our trip, it was actually the 150th birth anniversary of our Philippine Hero, Jose P. Rizal and what better way to celebrate his birthday that walking on the streets that he has once walked during his exile in Dapitan.... and so we took our ever reliable multicab to Dapitan.

Started the City Tour at Punto del Desembarco de Rizal. The monument on Sunset Boulevard marks the spot where Rizal first set foot on Dapitan upon his arrival in 1892.

Toured The Rizal Shrine, a major historical landmark in Dapitan, is the original estate of the country's national hero, Jose Rizal during his exile.

Had a generous buffet lunch at Kamayan ni Manay still in Dapitan..i can still taste the ginataang alimango which was a sure hit!

Next stop is the Map of Mindanao that Rizal made which is in front of St. James Church or Simbahan ng San Jaime which is where Rizal heard mass during his excile in Dapitan.

Felt we need to burn those calories we ate, we headed to Ilihan Trail to view the city from the top of the mountain... more than 200 steps!! But so glad the care taker offer free water after that tiring climb.

Before the day ended, we treated ourselves with massage.. I chose a Foot Thai Massage which was amazing.

Thank you to all the Zanortehanons who made us feel very welcome to your Historical City.
