ABOUT THE BLOG
I started this blog back in 2004 to share to the world my thoughts, triumphs, challenges, rantings and (almost) anything under the sun. Dwindled on posting in 2007-2009 to focus on my little boy and hubby as well as juggling motherhood with my career in corporate world (which is no easy task!). I post whenever I can.The title of this blog came from a song from my favorite Irish Celtic folk-rock band The Corrs. Borrowed Heaven is one of may favorite songs and this is also the fourth studio album of the band released in 2004. Why use it for the name of this blog? Because the life that I'm living and sharing in this blog is not mine but a borrowed one from God and I intend to Live it in its fullness and not waste any of His blessings.
Started a separate blog when I got engage on the same year so I can have a diary of a bride of my own. Chronicling the wedding preparation and the traditions that we had gone through to the moment that we have been waiting for. Check out my wedding diary.[no further updates after 2008]
Another blog was created as a result of my addiction to personality tests. The fuel for my narcissism blog is all about ME... IN TEXT FORMAT. [no further updates after 2010]
Feel free to browse around but remember that all post are my own opinion and copywrite/trademarks are used with permission so I'd like the same courtesy. If you want to get in touch with me, send me a message. I'd like to hear from you.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
1. What's with the name? I'm Shiena a.k.a. mumshens. When I was not yet married, my family and friends call me 'Shen' or 'Shens'. When I became a mom in 2006, they started calling me Mommy Shens. My friend Erben gave the name a shorter form which stuck with me. Since then, I'm Mum Shens to everyone. I'm a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend and a lover of all things purple.
2. Things and Stuff that I love are movies & TV marathons. I watch mostly romantic comedy, action, adventure, animation, sci-fi, drama, not so fond of horror movies but I like suspense thrillers. Enjoys afternoon tea (Chamomile, Moroccan Mint and Green Tea) or coffee klatch with friends... cafe mocha, latte or caramel macchiato. I love shopping for shoes and clothes and for my son. I don't like spending too much so I go shopping when there's a mall sale or I find something good at Surplus shops and outlet stores. I love to travel and will travel around the world soon. But for now, will conquer Asia. I recently added Sydney, Australia to my bucket list under the column, conquered & check! Loves to read. It's my escape from reality. Imagination in motion. I like Sophie Kinsella, Jodi Picolt, Nicholas Sparks, Mitch Albom, Sidney Sheldon, Dan Brown, Jane Green, Stephanie Meyer, J.K. Rowling and Emily Giffin.3. I'm not an active person (as in sports) and not an adventurous one either (I know.. boring right?!) Until July 6 2014 came and I finished a 10km run without any training. The following year, I trek with my husband and friends to Mt. Pinatubo (so okay, I'm a changed girl - now
4. To catch some Rest & Relaxation, I enjoy going the BEACH - not to swim but to just hear the splashing of the water and the sound of the wind and smell of clean air. Watch the sunsets with margarita on hand :)
5. At home, I'm a tutor, a financial consultant, a coach, and I give warm hugs. Learning how to cook by the book and magazine (thank you Yummy Magazine and the internet). I dream of a home that is Contemporary and Minimalist in style but with a son as energetic and curious as mine, I just can't imagine a house without any clutter and toys all around the place! So maybe that dream will come when he leaves for college.

7. I love to eat and my comfort food are but not limited to: Pizza, Pasta, White Cheddar Popcorn, Bagel (wheat) with cream cheese and Golden Spoon Yogart (Cake Batter flavor with Almond & Choco Chips toppings), Pinkberry froyo, Curry Beef Pepper Rice with Cheese and authentic Japanese Ramen.
8. My dream job is to work for Google but what I really want to become is to be a Spy for the CIA or be a Double Agent, doing Covert Ops and speak 12 different languages (I guess that's why I am so addicted to ALIAS, Nikita and Covert Affairs)
9. I have a secret power. I can sleep the whole day.
