Here Comes the Bride

I was once a bride and I know what all those brides-to-be are feeling.. anticipation and excitement when it comes to planning their wedding.. we (the Bride) want to be hands-on on every single detail... from the souvenirs to the invitation to the table setting and cake decor. Of course we should be on top of things since this is the day... Our Day.

I have dragged my husband-to-be to all the bridal fairs that I've read from newspapers and forwarded emails.. from Megamall, to the NBC tent... we scout suppliers from Divisoria to Dapitan to Laguna to Silang... And he better not say no because this would mean world war 3!

I'd say 1 year of prep is just right for couples who work on weekdays because its just the weekends and holidays that you get to do this stuff...But its scary to start planning especially if you don't have any idea where to start...

So to all of my soon to be Bride friends... I'm inviting you to a Bridal Fair this October 4-5, 2008 at the Blue Leaf, in McKinley, Fort Bonifacio .. which is dubbed as "A Day for a Lifetime" The most creative wedding fair in the country... so if you want to get some fresh ideas on your soon to be wedding... do drop by..

Why am I advertising this? My friend Janess who is part of the group - Designs Avenue, an Events Coordinating team - will be participating in this Bridal Fair ...they'll be dressing up the realm as Lord of the Rings. Freebies and special offers from their realm partners will be given to all visitors.
So I hope to see you there! Do spread the word and invite all your friends or family members who will be celebrating their weddings or debut soon.

DISNEYLAND Scrapbook

After 30 years.. I have finally made it to the happiest place on earth... DISNEYLAND!

Went to Disneyland on our 2nd day in Hong Kong. We didn't spent the whole day here so we didn't get a chance to see all the attractions. It was sooo HOT! .. I do not recommend kids going here during the summer. That's why we decided to go there mid afternoon. We arrived around 4pm, just in time for the Disney Parade. Then we head off to the carousel and rode flying Dumbo. It was time for the Disney's "meet and greet" where Andre had his souvenir photos with Chip & Dale, Winnie the Pooh, Cinderella and Snow White and of course Mickey... it took us around 45 minutes to finish the photo taking since we have to fall in line for each character and they (mickey and the gang) get 5 minutes break every 15 minutes...

We took the MTR going to Disneyland. Mamita pointing at our destination from the MTR Map

On board the Disney Train, with Papa Jun looking on
We have arrived!

Welcome to Disneyland!

Nice words of wisdom... Its a wonderland!

We headed to "Its a small world" where they feature dolls from all the continents.. and as you ride the boat, the song "its a small world after all..." is playing in the background. Depending on the continent that your in.. that's the language of the song.. they even play the tagalog version when we passed by the Filipino dolls in a Bahay Kubo and Karabao.. cute!

Little Drummer Boys

Next stop was the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.. this had the longest line of all the rides we took.. we waited in line for more than 30 minutes. Then we did our pasalubong shopping at the exit.. by the time we left the souvenir shop .. it was dark and the fireworks was about to start..

All smiles even if we are already tired of waiting in line. We just have to find
ways to entertain the kids

The Pooh Story Ride finally !

There were so many more places to go to like..the Jungle River Cruise, Tarzan Island,Mad Hatter Tea Cup.. haven't even entered Sleeping Beauty's Castle. The Space Mountain that Adrian was so eager to ride but was already closed when we left the souvenir shop. We also missed the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, and riding the train of the Disneyland Railroad.

So its safe to assume that we shall return to Disneyland...or maybe World?! hehehe! But we're definitely visiting during winter :)

Hong Kong 2008

Papa Jun treated his grandchildren (and us of course!) for a weekend holiday in Hong Kong. Its the family's first trip to HK but this is my second time already in this former Brit colony. I get to visit places that I was not able to see the first time I went there back in 2004. We rode the Peak Tram to Victoria Peak and visited Madame Tussauds' Wax Museum and I get to see the Symphony of Lights at the Promenade.

Ocean Park and Disneyland were at our number 1 list of course. I didn't get the chance to shop at Mong Kok though.. but I splurged on the Esprit Outlet where I shopped till I drop... I hope I won't pass out when I get my credit card bill next week!

Some of our photos at Madame Tussauds' Wax Museum.

Ocean Park 2008

We spent the whole 3rd day of our Hong Kong Trip in Ocean Park. There are new attractions since the last time I went there (back in 2004). There's the new Sky Fair, where they have a mechanical (non-hot) air balloon and Bungy. We lined up for the air balloon but unfortunately the wind is not cooperating, it was too windy for the balloon to carry 15 people at the same time so we decided to move on to the Bungy...

It was fun and I'm glad I'm not over their weight limit (195lbs) hehehe! so I was able to try it. The rest of the day I did mommy duty so that Adrian and the rest of the family (who are all first-timers in HK) can enjoy the rest of the rides :)

BFF with BOYS

Wouldn’t it be great to have your kid and your best friend’s kid be best buds too!? How cool is that! My son Andre was born only 3 months ahead of Ellie’s son Nash (who is turning 2 next Saturday). Our pregnancy was not planned at all, Andre is our honeymoon baby while Ellie and her husband Brian have been married for more than 2 years when Nash was conceived. But the problem is… our boys are thousand miles away from each other and have an eleven hours time difference. So the chances of them being best buds are slim.. unless Ellie and her family moved here or we relocate to Texas.

This thought came by when I was chatting with Ellie last night, 11pm here and 10am there. She’s ordering birthday invites over the web while Nash was still as sleep. I really enjoyed chatting with her and sharing our challenges as mothers to our boys at their terrible twos stage. Nakakatuwa lang kasi when she shares her problems with Nash.. I find myself saying.. “I know”, si Andre din ganun!” We are going through the same things at the same time.. from different parts of the world nga lang. But it’s comforting to know that I am not alone and that all kids are born to test their parents limits. Especially in the patience department.

How I wish she’s still here or I am there so we could have play dates, sleepovers, and have someone to talk to about my frustrations on motherhood. I do have friends who are mothers too… but it’s different when it’s your best friend and with our kids at the same age(almost) and gender, she can relate to me perfectly and vise versa. Iba kasi ang growth stages pag lalaki.. delayed sila than the girls, eh most of my friends had girls so I get frustrated when they say that their daughters have been potty trained na or can say lots of word na ...none of which Andre can do at this moment.

That’s why I miss her even more every time we send our goodbyes, goodnights, hugs and kisses emoticons which signals the end of our chat session.

Best Friends Forever with our Boys! Who apparently loves eating watermelon :)
