Friday Random Ten for 2005

in less than 24 hours its gonna be a new year...2005. What's in store for me in 2005? I was thinking of something that my friends and readers (if there are any) will look forward to not just for 2005 but every week of the year. So I thought why not do a Random Ten. Things that happened to me, things that I want to happened to me, Things that I wasn't expecting to happened to me...whatever!

Thus, I'm gonna make my last entry for the year 2004 a friday random ten. And since its new year and most people do have their new years resolution..here is my first Friday Random Ten:

1. zero in my credit card balance(due to christmas shopping)by March 2005.

2. find new opportunities, i mean job

3. get a hair cut before Chinese New Year

4. no more impulse buying for me (i still have my robinsons; powerbooks GC to splurge with)

5. wedding preparations should be all done by August 3,2005

6. lessen caffeine intake after I get my planner from Starbucks

7. don't forget to water my fortune plant before a long weekend

8. 115 on 090305

9. Phuket or Disneyland HK? Decide!

10. Save all the money that I can save

barkada get-to-gether

A yearly tradition of my college friends is to have a Christmas party(before or after Christmas day). Since we don't often see each other, we have this time of the year to get-together. Though some were not able to make it to the party last Dec.26, we had fun and laughter filled Don Henrico's Restaurant at the brickroad in Sta. Lucia. We also had exchanged gifts and I got a 4-piece islande glass and Adrian got a blue blanket. We also had gift grabbing, I got a picture frame with the picture of Weng, Mimaw, Edith and Jules in it.. Adrian got a shampoo/liquid soap dispenser.Plus, individual gifts from Jakikay, Mimaw, Weng, Rona and Edith.

As usual, Weng was the craziest of the bunch and life of the party... from start to finish, she was the one talking... hahahah! Tulog lang ang pahinga ni Weng. Everyone was excited for my wedding next year... they were talking about my bridal shower..sila na daw ang bahala sa stripper (isa lang ang request ko sa kanila.. sana mabango ang stripper..hahahha!); Jacq recounted how she asked permission to her parents for the wedding..."Ma, kakasal na si Shiena sa September 3..mag-oovernite kami dun"..her mom says.."Hinde pwede may trabaho ka sa araw na yun"... then she said..."Ma, next year pa po.." hehhehe! They already have itinerary what time they'll leave manila and when and what time they'll return..sobrang kakatuwa..

Pati kami ni adrian na excite sa kanila... kaya before we went to bed, we finalized the entourage list, what kind of invitation we'll have and updating the guest list.

Cherry Blossom

The effect of watching anime marathon on me is tremendous. I’ve adapted fascination to Japanese names, was even suggesting to Adrian to name our first-born “Kenshin”.

I want to go to Japan and see a real Cherry Blossom …how romantic is it to walk under those lovely trees, holding hands with the one you love… sigh!

First Christmas

Merry Christmas to all! Have you heard mass already? Have you opened your gifts? Have you greeted all your family and friends? Well, me, I've opened my gifts last night after Noche Buena, greeted all my family and friends here and abroad. Replied to their text messages. But I'll be hearing mass tonight at 8pm because Msgr. Romy RaƱada will officiate the mass.

Even before Christmas Eve, I'm already excited for this day to come because this will be the first time in 4 years that Adrian and I will be celebrating Christmas together. He used to spend it in Nasugbu while I spend it here at home in Fairview. And so Christmas Eve is here and he arrived with his backpack. We went to SM for some last minute shopping and went to the supermarket to buy some ingredients for the Noche Buena.

When we go home, my brother Dave was already watching the DVD series of Samurai X, which Adrian brought. After helping out with the preparation for Noche Buena, we headed to the tube and joined my brother in Samurai X marathon. I'm not really a fan of this anime, but after watching 1 disc (has 8 episodes in it) I started to kinda like the series...Kenshin becomes more attractive even with the X mark on his face...kinda like Harry Potter's lightning scar. Anyway, We took a little nap before the strike of midnight.

Merry Christmas Be, were the words that woke me up.. a merry Christmas kiss and we're on our feet to go down stairs to greet my parents. We had Noche Buena minus the white wine that Poly gave because we didn't have a cork opener (what a bummer!) so we just settled with Pepsi on our wine glasses. But never the less the food was great! We had grilled tuna, garlic shellfish with cheese, glazed ham, spaghetti, leche flan, fruit and potato salad and tuna macaroni. The sound of Fritz's Christmas song compilations surround the house while we ate. After eating, we went to the tree and opened our gifts. Adrian and I danced to the Christmas songs currently being played (still Fritz's CD), practicing our Money Dance for our Wedding Reception.

Ahh.. what a day! Such a wonderful Christmas.

27

I celebrated my 27th birthday yesterday and its my last birthday as a single woman. So I decided to splurge a little for this celebration.. I reserved an executive 2-bedroom suite at Richmonde Hotel so we can stay overnight and get all drunk and wasted. Though not all A-holics were present, (Winnie needs to be at home and Baet is still in Hong Kong) we still had fun.

Bought chips and dips/salsa, bottle of Baileys and gin and pineapple juice. Enjoyed some chicken wings from KFC while watching TV too. An a-holics get-together will not be complete without picture taking.. so we did our share of picture taking in the living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, closet, and even in the hallway and in front of the elevator. heheheh... not to mention those funny and wacky poses that we do.

And at the end of it all... a warm bubble bath to end a great day! (thanks Fritz for the bubble gum flavor bubble bath that you bought)

Here are some pictures from Maya’s camera. Complete photos will be uploaded soon in my yahoo photo album.

Grace's Day

After we left Discovery Suites last Saturday, Adrian and I did our last minute shopping for his Godchildren and gift for Grace's wedding (Adrian's cousin). We then went to his apartment and get his stuff and headed to the station.

We arrived in Nasugbu, Batangas around 9pm. After dinner, we had the famous halo-halo with barbeque for dessert in their patio. "Sarap talaga ng pagkain sa probinsya". I can't wait to spend the New Year here. Anyway, we hit the sack around 12:30 am because we need to be up and ready by 8am to go to Bauan, Batangas where the wedding will be held.

On our way to Bauan, we passed by the province of Balayan and learned that Adrian’s elder brother knew my officemate's (Emmy) older brother and sister. The world is truly small :)

Anyway, we spent the whole afternoon at the bride’s house. And I was imagining what my day will be like on my wedding day. We arrived at their house and Grace was already seated to put on her make up... Then her hair was made up .. then its her mom's turn ... Then I fell as sleep in their sofa. I know I dreamed of something but I can't remember anymore.

I woke up and Grace was already wearing her off shoulder ball gown with her bouquet of blue-sprayed roses in the hand. The photographer took some pictures and we headed to the church.

The ceremony went well, but I felt 1 hour just past without me realizing it... I guess the sermon didn't really catch my attention so I didn't bother to listen. After all the pictures were taken with sponsors, bridal entourage and families of both sides, we then went to Batangas Country Club for the reception. It was held in the pool area, where the put a bridge from one side to the other where a stage was set up for the newlyweds to dine. The guests' tables are place around the pool area.
The food is just so so.. but the kare-kare was delicious.

After the reception, we went straight to the bus station to catch a trip to Manila.

9 months and 14 days to go before my Big Day!

pig out and booze overload

Maya shared her select incentive to the sales group and a-holics. She received an overnight stay gift certificate at discovery suites courtesy of our consultant for bringing in the highest revenue for the year.

So yesterday, after our Yoga class we headed to Discovery Suites. We chipped-in the booze and chips and dips for the party. We had fun goofin' and laughin' around. Not to mention my rock star performance using a TV remote control as my microphone. Thank God! I'm tipsy so I had an excuse to do crazy things..hahahha..I actually know what I was doing but no longer had any control over it.. soo I danced, sung (even I'm out of tune)and laughed as I pleased. They even took some videos of me doing my rendition of The Corrs'"I Never Love You Anyway" ala rock star and me laughing (for no reason at all) while tears are falling down my face.

It was truly a night to remember...a big thanks and hug to Maya! Sa uulitin!
