I was listening to my mobile radio while at work today. While I'm tuned on to my favorite radio station JAM 88.3 I heard these great new songs. well, new songs to me since it was the first time I heard their songs and their names even.
I first heard, Everyday Miracles by Sara Groves and i didn't expect JAM would play a worship-kind-of-song. But this song is very inspirational. I love it! the melody and lyrics are so beautiful..
It's the everyday miracles that keep my hope alive / It's the way You move in little things that help me survive / And I know You move in greater ways / But this is great enough for me / What You do with my everyday is amazing /
The things that seem impossible, I lay down at Your feet / And just when I am needing most You are there for me / And I know you've made the lame to walk / And caused the blind to see / But what You do with my everyday is amazing
When I'm down on my knees /And I can't make it through / When it's up to me / It's really up to You
The next song I heard was Hey Julie by Fountains of Wayne. Very cool and up beat song..and the lyrics are sooo sweet :)
Workin' all day for a mean little man / With a clip-on tie and a rub-on tan /
He's got me runnin' 'round the office like a dog around the track / But when I get back home you're always there to rub my back
Chorus:/Hey Julie, look what they're doing to me / Tryin' to trip me up, tryin' to wear me down / Julie, I swear it's so hard to bear it / And I'd never make it through without you around / No, I'd never make it through without you around /
Verse:/Hours on the phone makin' pointless calls /I got a desk full of paper that means nothin' at all / Sometimes I catch myself staring into space / Counting down the hours 'til I get to see your face /
Bridge:/How did it come to be / That you and I must be / Far away from each other every day? / Why must I spend my time / Fillin' up my mind /With facts and figures that never add up anyway / They never add up anyway/
Verse:/ Workin' all day for a mean little guy / With a bad toupee and a soup-stained tie / He's got me runnin' 'round the office like a gerbil on a wheel /He can tell me what to do, but he can't tell me what to feel /
And here, a story of a young love from a man's point of view. pretty cool.
In a Real Love by Phil Vassar
I was 18 makin' minimum wage / With a letterman jacket and a Chevrolet / I thought I was cool / Yeah, I ruled the school /You were CUM LAUDE with the strawberry lips / You had the whole world danglin' at your fingertips / You senior year, and I was your daddy's worst fear / We ran off on graduation night / Thought a couple of left hand rings would make everything alright/
With a little bit o' live, little bit o' learn / Little bit o' watchin' a few more candles burn / And findin' out what life was / With a little bit o' fuss little bit o' fight / Little bit o' kiss and makin' up all night / And one day wakin' up, oh in a real love/
Well I was 22 workin' double overtime / I was spendin' dollars and makin' dimes
We were overdrawn, and barely hangin' on / Then one night you came to me
With tears in your eyes and the EPT and said "guess what" / Yeah baby ready or not / Well I just smiled but I was scared to death / How am I gonna' have a kid when I'm still a kid myself / Repeat Chorus.
