NO, it’s not another political election. It’s the 2005 Weblog Awards ™. I never thought weblogs also have this kind of yearly event and has been going on since 2001. There are three phases to go through before the winners of each category are chosen, the nomination phase, the elimination phase and the voting phase. Prizes are not grand - the Weblog of the Year owner(s) will receive 2,005 US cents (US$20.05). Though contributors can donate their own prize to the category of their choice (kewl!). But then again, its not really for the prize but for the recogintion of one's effort in sharing their wisdom, talents, opinions, beliefs, ideas (etc.) to the world wide web. Congratulations to all the nominees.
For 6 months that I have been blogging, I still consider myself as a newbie in this growing community and its a delight for me to be a part it. Anyway, I’m so excited to partake in this event that all I did all afternoon [and evening] is to browse through the nominees and voted.
So go to the 2005 bloggies and exercise your blogger rights. Voting will close at 10:00 PM EST on Thursday, February 3. Good luck to all the nominees. Will I be nominated next year? :-)
