My mind was ready to go back to work but I didn’t realize that my body isn’t until my fever came back just as I left my client’s office last Friday. I felt nausea when I reached the office and couldn’t focus on my work. After finishing some important paperwork, I decided to call it a day and go home. Called Adrian that I wasn’t feeling good so I have to cancel our movie date that night. We were supposed to watch Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Pitt & Jolie). But it was heartwarming to hear that he’ll just drop by the house after work to see me.
I arrived home around 1:30 pm and after eating only about four spoonful of food, I already felt full. With an icepack on my head, water and tissue within my reach, I was back in my sickbed. I felt sicker than I was 3 days ago. I can’t even bring myself to go to the doctor. I decided to just sleep it over and hope that when I woke up I’d feel a little bit better. Which I did, Thank God!
Adrian arrived around 7:30pm and had dinner with me. He brought me some seedless grapes and some tacos with cheese dip. After dinner he gave me a great massage to soothe my aching muscles. It was so relaxing that I actually fallen asleep. Adrian also fallen asleep beside me after giving me a massage. I asked him to just stay for the night since he seems so tired already.
The next day, (fifth day of being sick) after breakfast, Adrian brought me to the hospital to have me checked. They took my temperature, my BP, they checked my heartbeat, they took my urine sample and a blood sample too (which is still black and blue up to now). I was scared to what the result of the lab test will be since a lot of deadly virus has been in the news lately (Meningo, Malaria, Dengue). "Good News" was the first words of the doctor after reading my lab test results. My blood is clean from any deadly virus. What I’m experiencing is just a viral infection. Her diagnosis, acute rhinitis. After giving me my prescription and my medical certificate, Adrian and I went to the drugstore to buy the medicines and also bought some fresh coconut water.
When we arrived home, I was feeling a bit better already. We ate some of the tacos that Adrian brought yesterday and watched some episodes of Punk’d. Afterwards, Adrian headed home already.
I think that, Adrian’s mere presence contributed a lot for making me better.. And that, I can’t explain why.
