90% Girl 10% Boy

It's what the Sonologist told us during my ultrasound this morning. 90% girl because the genitals are flat. The 10% male was considered because of a scrotum like size dangling in the same area. But nevertheless, we are glad that the baby is at its normal growth rate and I no longer have a low-lying placenta. Now, I can be at peace about not being sliced up and have a normal delivery.

Prior to the ultrasound, I have to undergo the glucose and blood test. In the glucose test, they made me drink this glucose solution which at first I assumed to be concentrated and as thick as a honey in a tequila shot glass. But what the med tech gave me was a 50 grams diluted gulcose solution in a bottle. I was expecting for the sweetest drink in my entire life but when the liquid reached my taste buds, it tasted like a carbonated orange juice ( like royal-tru orange) [gosh, I really missed drinking softdrinks.] I was glad I was thirsty enough (and hungry) to drink the whole thing in less than 5 minutes. [~you have to fast for about 8-14 hours before taking the glucose test]. After an hour the med tech took my blood sample, not once but twice (ouch! i couldn't look at my arm while she stuck those needles) for both the glucose and the blood type tests.

After the ultrasound, the baby and I are so hungry [we have not taken any solid food for 15 hours], we ate at Mexicali, I was just craving for something Mexican. Afterwards Adrian and I went to PowerBooks and I bought a book entitled: the baby: Owner’s Manual to help me through as a first time mommy. I know I can learn a lot from my mom’s experience but I also want to be independent and know what I’m doing by heart.
We then went shopping for our baby, mittens, precious moments' booties and hats, sesame street's blankets [with baby elmo and baby cookie monster design ] and socks. We also bought our baby’s first feeding bottle. I read in a magazine that the brand AVENT, has an anti-colic material. So we bought a feeding set which includes, 4 feeding bottles, 2 bottle brush and 2 extra silicon teats. We also got a milk dispenser.

Seems like as early as now, my baby shall inherit my love for shopping. Maybe we should name her Becky Bloomwood. Hahaha! But I know better than that.. I just feel that Ashley Sofia will perfectly fit her personality.
