my impromtu date

Okay so I have been trying to hook up my 2 friends and scheduling their meet up to have coffee or something. I have been doing this for the past 6 months or so. But up to now... i have failed. Yesterday, I thought I had the perfect opportunity. I was exchanging sms with my guy friend and my girl friend is online in my google chat. And so I thought, tonight might be the right time for them to meet...And so I ask my friend if she is free for dinner or coffee and she said that she was actually looking for something to do. Great! Perfect! (im starting to get excited myself) So I sent a sms to my guy friend if he is free.. to my dismay he said he needs to work overnight... told him to ask permission for at least an hour or 2 break but it was just not going to happened. His boss didn't allow him to leave the office... Talk about being a prisoner in your job (anyway.. that's a different topic).

I sent a message to my other friend Kim, about my frustration with this situation...(being a matchmaker is hard especially if the forces of nature and occupation is against you).. She said don't lose hope.. maybe its not yet ripe (hehe! di pa hinog in tagalog)... and as an optimist myself.. i believed her.

And so I went solo on this impromtu date with my friend, Maya...and I say real friends do read each other's mind...because we can't decide where to eat so I gave her choices... Chinese, Italian, American or Pinoy? Seems like i was asking her for her preference in men. Hahaha! But we are talking about cuisines here.. she texted back Chinese/ Italian... and so I decided its going to be Chinese and suggested North Park..she replied.. "you read my mind" :)

It was a great dinner, conversation and updates on what's going on in our lives.. we were given a perfect corner sofa seat at North Park and shared a great meal of Brocolli, Salted Pepper Squid, steamed Wanton and shared a cup of rice (we are in denial that we want more rice haha! but that cup was enough for us.). And sealed the night with more laughter and a cup of Starbuks Cocoa Cappuccino which is delish :)

Maya and I at Starbucks Glorietta5
Next date will be a dinner at Good Earth in BGC and desserts in Sonja's.. Looking forward to it.. with or without a date.

Hope you had a great Friday night with friends and family.
xoxo,
shiena
