High School Love: Def Leppard blast from the past

Okay so some blast from the past here... i saw my friend's FB timeline and it says, When Love & Hate Collide (Live) Def Leppard & Taylor Swift. And one of the comments was Goosebumps!  And it did give me goosebumps too... and after watching it... high school memories comes knockin' and kickin' in.

It was then when rock genre is making a comeback and I personally love Def Leppard's songs... (others would be Extreme, White Lion, Firehouse, Bon Jovi, Skidrow, Guns n Roses and of course Mettalica). I was a "rakista" back in high school (influenced by my HS puppy love... more like a bulldog love probably). And that's another story.

(Back to Def Leppard) I was hoping that they did a version of  "Have you ever needed someone so bad?" because its my other favorite song from the band... (the other favorite is Two Steps Behind) but I didn't see any :-(

I was listening to their songs on youtube while browsing through my social networks and I realized that I miss listening to them.. hope they come and do a concert here in Manila :) I will definitely wont miss it.
And so for your musical pleasure... I give you Def Leppard and Taylor Swift.

And my favorite Def Leppard album... is Adrenalize

Enjoy the music... Rock On!

Social Network site called Twitter

In these time and age of social media, I have come to enjoy twitter the most. Why? Because I get to interact with people, particularly celebrities that I follow and admire. Back in the days they don’t even know you and I  exist… but now even a single word tweet, RT (Re-Tweet) is enough for me to feel giddy. Its just amazing. I add it to my favorite immediately when they reply.

In my previous back in 2011, my twitter friends and I had this twitter game (who will get a reply from a celebrity-in any field- who has more than 10K followers and lives outside the country). Though Raffy contested my winning… and the agreed prize was not given to me… Its okay.. because just the mere fact that these popular people (Singer, Hollywood Actor, Journalist, Media personality, Radio Jocks, Author and Actress + UN-WFP Ambassador) have replied to my tweets is enough as a prize. I have actually favorited them and here are some screen shots.

So what is the secret of getting a reply (aside from luck) its to send them a message when you see them tweeting or RT-ing and just hope and pray that they’ll notice your tweet among the thousands of people who are also sending them tweets at the same time as you did.

But of course don't expect too much so you won't get disappointed.
There's this one person that I regularly tweet but haven't replied to any of them yet... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one day.. some day... he'll say Hi :)

Who? Its @shanewest_1

Insanely Simple

So I am or should I say, all of the people managers in my company is attending a workshop entitled: Think like an Apple. Of course when you say Apple, its the technology of tomorrow on your finger tips. I talking about the iPhone, iPod, iPad etc.. We are instucted to read the book: Insanely Simple The Obsession That Drives Apple's Success by Ken Segall as a pre-work for the workshop. A disclaimer states that any participant who does not read this book cannot attend the workshop. Okay... so I bought the book and started to read it... its quite boring at first but as the pages turn, I get interested in the Apple Trivias...like:

.... Jobs wanted to name the iMAC, MacMan. (Good Lord! good thing he listened to his advertising people)

....There was already an  iPhone (by Cisco) before THE Apple iPhone was marketed.

And I imagine how interesting and scary at the same time it would be to be able to present to Steve Jobs ( me as a sales person, presenting the products and services of my company)..

But its also interesting to know how Jobs is as a leader, as a visionary and as a marketer.

Above all, half way of my reading, I had decipher that this book is an advertising ploy for Android users (like me) and non-Apple beliver to want to buy an iPad. I should commend Ken Segall for this. He is a true Advertising Agent of Apple.... because its working its magic on my subconsciousness.

Insanely Simple available at Amazon.com

I just hope this workshop tomorrow or should i say later ( its 2:17am, and i am still at page 176 of 213) would change me. the company. the management. In making things Simple. and not Complex.

"Simplicity is an all-or-none proposition, that you can't just choose the pieces a la carte". - Ken Segall

one of those nights trying to keep my eyes open.

 I'm going back to reading....

I got myself a Ray Ban

After 6 years... I've decided to get a new eye glasses ...yes 6 years. read this post if you don't believe me. Good thing there was an APE last week, I was able to get the frame at 50% OFF. Great buy yeah? :)

I had to take this gulat shot for my hubby wants to see it.
I can't wait for Aug 30 to get my hands on it.

P.S. Ever since I had that sore eyes last month... my eyes has become very dry when i'm wearing my contact lenses... even if I drop some lubricant on them... it still gets dry quickly.. Thus my need to get a new pair of glasses.

But why do I need to justify this ... its a great buy and its about time to change them. right? Right.
