Insanely Simple

So I am or should I say, all of the people managers in my company is attending a workshop entitled: Think like an Apple. Of course when you say Apple, its the technology of tomorrow on your finger tips. I talking about the iPhone, iPod, iPad etc.. We are instucted to read the book: Insanely Simple The Obsession That Drives Apple's Success by Ken Segall as a pre-work for the workshop. A disclaimer states that any participant who does not read this book cannot attend the workshop. Okay... so I bought the book and started to read it... its quite boring at first but as the pages turn, I get interested in the Apple Trivias...like:

.... Jobs wanted to name the iMAC, MacMan. (Good Lord! good thing he listened to his advertising people)

....There was already an  iPhone (by Cisco) before THE Apple iPhone was marketed.

And I imagine how interesting and scary at the same time it would be to be able to present to Steve Jobs ( me as a sales person, presenting the products and services of my company)..

But its also interesting to know how Jobs is as a leader, as a visionary and as a marketer.

Above all, half way of my reading, I had decipher that this book is an advertising ploy for Android users (like me) and non-Apple beliver to want to buy an iPad. I should commend Ken Segall for this. He is a true Advertising Agent of Apple.... because its working its magic on my subconsciousness.

Insanely Simple available at Amazon.com

I just hope this workshop tomorrow or should i say later ( its 2:17am, and i am still at page 176 of 213) would change me. the company. the management. In making things Simple. and not Complex.

"Simplicity is an all-or-none proposition, that you can't just choose the pieces a la carte". - Ken Segall

one of those nights trying to keep my eyes open.

 I'm going back to reading....

I got myself a Ray Ban

After 6 years... I've decided to get a new eye glasses ...yes 6 years. read this post if you don't believe me. Good thing there was an APE last week, I was able to get the frame at 50% OFF. Great buy yeah? :)

I had to take this gulat shot for my hubby wants to see it.
I can't wait for Aug 30 to get my hands on it.

P.S. Ever since I had that sore eyes last month... my eyes has become very dry when i'm wearing my contact lenses... even if I drop some lubricant on them... it still gets dry quickly.. Thus my need to get a new pair of glasses.

But why do I need to justify this ... its a great buy and its about time to change them. right? Right.

7 days in Quarantine: what to do?

Yesterday I was diagnosed to have a Conjunctivitis. And yes this is my first time to have sore eyes. I know the symptoms ( foreign body like in your eye, excessive purulent discharge, reddening and watery eyes )  but never experienced it until now... How and where did I get infected? I don't have any idea but that does not matter to me know. What matters is what to do with my 7 days of quarantine?

I have made my list which includes : finish uploading photos online - but I need a laptop that java works (and my notebook is acting up if I enable java argh!) so this is scrapped because i dont want to use the desktop or my husbands laptop since they might use it and get infected with my virus.

So next i think I can do Marathon of Game of Thrones season 2 and movies that I have not yet seen from last year... but my eyes gets tire easily so movie and series marathon is out. I can only last 1 episode and my eyes are dead tired.

Next, Update this blog. yes, this will not take a hour. post a blog a day ... and talk about what?? what I do during my 7 day exile here in our bedroom. Which I had all to myself because my son is sleeping with my mother and my husband is sleeping on the couch. Which is kinda sad and exhausting at the same time because I can't sleep since I also have a cough that keeps me up all night. So this is truly the worst vacation ever!

Reading those novels on my nightstand that i haven't finished.. but that will surely get my eyes tired in no time. But I guess I'll have to do these one step at a time and keep my mind off work....

Speaking of work, Management from the Regional Office are coming by next week. So i dont know if this sore eyes is a blessing in disguise or wrong timing... okay lets think positive here... a blessing in disguise :)

Well at least for today I have accomplished one thing update this blog :)

This might be the first and last so why not :) And yes, I took a halfday leave for this... and its worth it! May 24,2012 @ 3pm was a day to be remembered. Forevah!

OH MAY GHAWD!! THAT SMILE...MY KNEES ARE WEAK!
Oh why so damn hot even with your clothes on?

Hands sway from side to side to get the better shot of Ian Somerhalder
if he really is a real vampire, would this girl still hold this message?

Giving his message to his fans
Alex Mendoza of Penshoppe and Joyce Ramirez of Publicity Asia, The team that brought this Hollywood Actor in Philippine soil.
Did you catch that kiss??
I did! :)

Thank you to Penshoppe for arranging this meet & greet at such short notice. Ian headed to the airport right after this event.

Smell of Spring

If I'd be given one wish that Mother nature would grant this instant, it would be have four seasons in this tropical country. Being born and lived here all my life, I've longed to experience Winter. Spring. Autumn.

To hold out a snow ball and make snow angels. Wear a coat and put on my boots and mittens and walk down central park while hugging myself to keep me warm. I love the colors of Fall. Red, Orange, Brown and Burgundy, the dried leaves on the pathway, the sight of red leaves falling from an oak tree. the smell of musk and sandalwood.  And then there's Spring. The new beginning. The fresh, crisp sent of flowers all around you. I can imagine myself reading a book the whole day in the company of nature. That would be lovely. The sound of chirping birds. The feeling of being around nature is what I like about spring.. not too hot.. not too cold ... just right.

I know its spring time somewhere in this planet. And I want you to know that I envy you. One day. someday. I will get to experience spring time. maybe in another country. in another continent. definitely someday.

But for now, you, who gets to enjoy this four seasons... should not waste your time indoors... Go out and smell the flowers.. the Smell of Springtime.

My favorite city during spring time

Reading a book surrounded by nature -- I love.

Yoga at the Park -- interesting.
Company of Friends -- Precious.
