Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper made for Movies

Oh I can't wait! I was browsing through the author's website and I came across a snippet.

"Dakota and Elle Fanning have been cast to play Kate and Anna Fitzgerald in the movie adaptation. They're younger than in the book – but so is Cameron Diaz, who's been cast as Sara. Cameron Diaz will star in the New Line Cinema adaptation of My Sister's Keeper - and filming will begin early next year!" This was actually posted in 2007 thus, when I clicked on the link to Variety, it wrote that filming is starting in March.

I am so excited .. I'm so gonna watch this movie. After reading this book, I knew that this was a movie material kinda book and I'm not gonna be surprised if all Jodi's books will be made to films in the future like Nicholas Sparks and John Grisham.

a month's worth of blog

Did you guys miss me? I surely missed blogging. Though I get to browse the internet everyday and logged in my online cribs (yes, I have too many of them), I just didn't feel like writing. But today, I finally found the time (and the inspiration) to do it.So this is a month's worth of blog, thus, expect it to be long. So if you're up to it, do read along but it not, just click on the back arrow of your browser.

Christmas of 2007 The family celebrated it in Manila where I cooked a Sardines Pasta. This is a copycat from Kitchen's menu. I'm proud to have been able to cook this from scratch without any recipe book at hand. And I'm glad no one had stomach ache the next day. Of course my mom made Christmas Ham, Leche flan and Salad. Christmas morning was the time to open gifts and made me realized that almost 2/3 of the gifts under our tree are all for AJ given by our friends, neighbors and relatives.

Death of Lolo Ben A bad news came in on Christmas Day when Hubby's grandfather died on-board an airplane to Los Angeles. They came to Manila to attend Jeremy and Lawrence's wedding last November and left for LA on Christmas Eve (Manila time) to spend holidays in the States but it was so unfortunate that people on-board the plane does not know how to do first aid on someone who was choking. You just want to scream at those people!Morons!

New Year 2008 Spent the New Year in Nasugbu, Batangas and I revived my Sardines Pasta since it was a hit during the noche buena feast. AJ got to visit his great grand parents, lola ina and lolo paco, and even received some pamasko (which went directly to the bank). Its been months since he last saw his cousin Abi so it was nice to see them play and get along like little bro and big sis. Also got our share of goodies from the balikbayan box that was sent by my in-laws from the States. Unfortunately, I had a fever the during the last day on 2007 so after cooking the pasta I slept through the whole new year celebration and the fireworks. I so guess I'll be sick and sleepy the whole year of 2008. Yayks!!!

Lolo Ben's Burial 5 days after New Year, we went back to Nasugbu and went to Bauan to attended the wake of Lolo Ben. His remains was flown from LA as the family decided to bury Lolo Ben here in the Philippines. I have never witness a close relative's wake since I was too young to remember when my lolo and lola on both sides of the family had gone to rest. So this would be the first for me. It pained me seeing all my relatives-in-law in tears and loosing a parent is for me an unimaginable feeling. I pray for Lolo Ben's soul to rest in peace. You are loved Lolo Ben. We'll miss you.

No More Nanny Nannies are so important in the lives of a working moms like me. They are the most important people next to my family. I thought I have treated her well (gave salary on time, gave her time-off when she asks, free food, free lodging). Showered her with gifts this Christmas: a mobile phone, new clothes, bags, accessories, my mom even gave gifts for her parents in the province. Then she asked permission to spend the new year and to attend her brother's wedding in the province. And so she left the same day we left for Nasugbu (December 29) and said that she'll return on January 5th. Hubby called her on that day and she said she's not coming back. WTF!!! After everything that we have done for her this is what we get in return? Life is so unfair!

AJ's got Baby measles "Why does this have to happened to me right now?" Is what I said when my mom told me that AJ got fever. Two days after we arrived from Bauan, AJ had erratic fever for 2 days which sometime reached 38.7 degrees. We brought him to the ER just to be sure that we are not dealing with Dengue fever here. I was advised by the doctor that they do not recommend any blood test to children that does not have high fever for at least 3 days. So we went home with no idea on what lies ahead. Good thing that on the 3rd day, his fever went down and was back to normal again. Then the next day, we saw rashes on his forehead then it was spreading around his face, neck, and back. My mom said it might be measles but I said he can't have measles because he had complete vaccine from day 0. We went to his pedia to have him checked just to make sure and I was glad to know that what he had was just baby measles or roseola that will clear in itself after 3 days. This is also the reason why he had fever a few days back.

While reading about baby measles, I came across an article by a Pediatrician Diane Sacks, she worte: "Roseola is contagious, but not very serious. I always thought the most serious part of it was the damage to parents' mental health: first dealing with the high fever; second, coping with a miserable child once the rash breaks out. My sympathies." I say she's so right about the parents' mental health.

Amazing Race Asia with Marc & Rovilson
I am a fan of Amazing Race but not the Asia franchise of AXN when it was launched. But in this season, I am so addicted to it and I'm so praying that Marc and Rovilson will be the first to arrive to the pit stop and win at each leg of the race... Go Philippines!

Now, AJ's well (Thank God!) and back to his toddler duties (messing the house and making my mom crazy). I'm back at work and more focused on my extremely high target for 2008 but still have no nanny. So please spread the word… I need NANNY ASAP! (hope she arrives on time just before my mom get seriously crazy).
WOW! I'm congratulating you if you have read this far. And thank you for reading ...
xoxo,

What's your name's hidden meaning?

Don't want to be narcissistic but I kinda miss doing this blogthings :) Thanks to maymee for sharing her name's hidden meaning...

so here's mine... what's yours?

SHIENA Means
You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.
You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.
Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.
Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

at 30

Oh gosh, I'm Three O already!? I still can't say it.. I'm still in denial. I feel old (hikbi!). I used to say that I've decided to stick with just one age.. that's 22. Why? Cause that age is not too young and not too old either.. its a legal age (well except for marriage without consent). But now it seems childish to say that I'm 22 when lines in my eyes are forming, when dark circles are visible under my eyes and these post baby fats are not going anywhere anytime soon. On the bright side, I was able to experience what a WOMAN should by this age: had a fab wedding, survived what they call "hell on earth" a.k.a. labor pains and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy (normal delivery with epidural of course!).

I have been blessed for 30 years with a wonderful family, a mother that will swim a thousand seas and sacrifice her own happiness for her children, a husband that loves and comforts me, a son that fills my heart with joy and given me my life's purpose. Friends, who cares for me and treated me like their own sister.

I thank you Lord for all of these people who became part of my 30 years of existence. and I pray for 30 more and another 30 more years to share with them your blessing.

Adrian woke me up at the strike of midnight to give me my present.

Plastic or Not its still a bag

This is the closest thing I'll have to a must-have Hollywood' fashion, my "I'm NOT A Plastic Bag" bag. Thanks to my (college) friend Lesh, who gave this as her Christmas gift to the barkada ... So I think this makes shopping more worthwhile because shoppahoclis helps save the earth right? That's why after our lunch at Seaside near MOA, hubby, Andre and I went to Mall of Asia. We were actually looking for a shirt for hubby because he's shirt is covered with crab chili sauce. Then we saw the Branded kiosk of the Tshirt Project. The plan was for him to buy a shirt to change into but then the shoppaholic in me comes alive and had a great idea! Why not have a his and hers shirt.. so we chose some shirts (NU 107, t-shirt day etc) but no XXL and double XL sizes for his and hers with the same design... so we just decided that the store attendant juts find us a shirt the have our size regardless of the design but the store attendant still insist that we choose the design and she'll check if it has our sizes (yes, we're healthy people kasi eh,,hehehe!) And so finally.. I saw this SARAO brand "Jeep my Ride" and like the pattern and olur sizes are available.. yey! And after paying for it, I got this nice "I am A Plastic bag" bag... and it says "Please recyle me" at the back.

More and more enterprises are concern about our environment or is it because its a fad, with all this "im not a Plastic bag" craze going around? We'll I hope not.. I hope they are really doing this for a good cause and not just following the trend.
