What a week that was! I didn't even have the time to do my Friday random post. This is because our VP for Op from MY is in the country. Meetings here and there, it really kept us in our toes and harassed our GM (which is a good thing, btw). And I can say that I had a very close encounter with him. I read in a book that, when you get the chance to talk to a BIG Boss of the company, you must put your best foot forward to impress the guy. Talk about your work related ideas and other things that might get them to notice your potential... but in my case, it was nothing like that (at all!) Seems like I'm so myself that I crack joke at him and not being serious at all when he talks to me. I don't know why, but it just comes naturally to me...its like every time I open my mouth and start to speak everything turns into a funny thing...I don't know if its just a reactive impulse on my part so it won't be obvious that I'm nervous. My colleagues even gapes at me during those moments. hahaha!
My Post Friday Randon 5: Encounters with our VP OP:
1. If you offer to help him with the setting up of his laptop, prepare to do the unexpected; like he prefers that you get him a cup of coffee than help him with his laptop.
2. Don’t forget to ask if he wants black or with cream for his coffee, you’ll hate him if he says (in a serious tone) he does not drink the kind of coffee that you bought for him. And you’ll hate him even more if he says “joke!”
3. Your struggling under the table to plug in his computer, afterwards you say, “did your enjoy that”? (while he’s sitting in the chair) –hahaha! He grins and widens his eyes!
4. Tell him you need to catch the bus by 8pm so he’ll cut short the meeting.(which is true, btw)
5. When he tells you to have a drink before meeting your future grandparents-in-law, just say no. And he’ll confidently say: “Good Luck, I know you’ll charm them”.(while firmly shaking your hand)
All’s well that ends well don’t you think?
